about

variations on old tunes
occupy a sort of wordless place
for lots of the old fiddlers.

at some point you realize your version
is not exactly your teacher's

i can’t tell how purposeful this moment is made,
maybe more by some than others

this concert is a moment when i had a set of ideas
of purposeful changes

i think some of it inspired by the longing
to live in them, the songs, longer
the wishing they were landcapes instead

[i used to live in a little house on the new river
i used to hear the trains go by
it was impossibly green so much of the time
maybe i missed it maybe that is part]

[definitely it was inspired by five or six years ago hearing
andrew bernstein play the saxophone
mind blowing patient and soft
and the thought that i might try to paint landscapes how]

places to visit maybe moods ?

listening back three years later,
glad to hear the start of a road that i
am excited to push farther down

whenever my health allows.

[seeing currently, mostly my bedroom
still
long covid is certainly long]
